Exotic & specialist metals
Do you have tantalum, molybdenum, niobium, hafnium, zirconium, rhenium or another high-value metal stream? M. Vangelen Recycling buys and assesses specialist metal lots from the Benelux; international enquiries are also welcome. Send photos, an estimated weight and any available material information for an initial assessment.

Specialist material streams
With exotic and high-value metals, incorrect classification can directly affect commercial value. We therefore look beyond appearance or weight and consider origin, material form, markings, certificates and, where appropriate, material analysis.
A lot does not need to be fully identified before you contact us. Clear photos, an estimated weight and any available material information are usually enough to determine the sensible next step.
Material overview
Choose the material that best matches your lot. Each detail page covers relevant forms, identification, value factors and how to offer the material.
Other specialist families
Tungsten/carbide and nickel-based superalloys have their own main route because material forms, identification and commercial sorting differ.

Identification
For traceable lots, grade, certificates and clear material markings can already provide substantial information. For unknown alloys, handheld XRF can give a rapid first indication of many relevant alloying elements.
XRF is not universal: light elements such as beryllium are not measured directly by common handheld XRF instruments, while coatings, contamination or a small measurement area can affect interpretation. If additional analysis is needed, that should be clear before final classification.

For alloys, we mainly use XRF as a rapid indication of the elements present. The result is always interpreted together with the lot form, markings and origin.

Contamination, coatings and mixing with other materials can affect value.
Sheet, wire, bar, components, turnings or powder do not always require the same assessment.
Certificates, batch information and known origin can make identification easier.
Unknown or composite lots may require additional verification.
Current demand, quantity, location and required logistics all contribute to the final agreement.
Offer a lot
Photos, estimated weight, dimensions and any markings or certificates.
We determine whether the information is sufficient or additional identification is required.
After assessment, we discuss the commercial options and practical handling.
Depending on the lot, location and volume, we arrange delivery or transport.
