Exotic metal
Do you have vanadium metal, ferrovanadium, alloy residues, technical parts or a traceable production stream? Send photos, weight, location and available material information. We assess composition, form, sorting and logistical feasibility.

Lot forms
In practice, vanadium often occurs as an alloying addition or as ferrovanadium rather than as pure metal. The exact form and vanadium content therefore matter in the initial assessment.
Material & application
Vanadium is widely used as an alloying element in steel and other alloys. A lot may therefore contain vanadium without being pure vanadium metal.
For commercial assessment, actual vanadium content, the other alloying elements and material form are more important than a label alone. Keep certificates, heat data and analytical reports where available.
Identification
Colour and appearance provide little information about vanadium content. A material marking, certificate, known alloy grade or analysis is much more useful. XRF can provide indicative information on alloying elements in many metals.
For ferrovanadium, special steels and unknown alloys, additional analysis may be needed to establish composition and the appropriate commercial route with sufficient confidence.

On suitable solid samples, handheld XRF can help indicate vanadium and other alloying elements. With low-alloy steels, coatings or contaminated surfaces, material context remains important; the reading supports identification but does not by itself determine commercial value.

Estimated weight and postcode help assess logistics.
Certificates, grade, origin and part numbers where available.
We advise what information, analysis or logistics are required.
Valuation
For vanadium-bearing lots, composition and concentration are key. We therefore assess the actual lot rather than publishing one generic price for “vanadium scrap”.
The proportion of vanadium and the form in which it is present strongly influence assessment.
Ferrovanadium, pure metal and vanadium-bearing steel are different material streams.
Certificates, heat data, labels and analysis reduce uncertainty.
Solid metal, lumps, turnings and assembled components require different assessment.
Oil, coatings, foreign metals and mixed grades affect sorting and processing.
Weight, continuity, location and current outlets form part of the proposal.
Practical questions
You can submit ferrovanadium and other traceable vanadium-bearing lots. Include the grade, analysis or product specification where possible.
Vanadium-bearing steel is not the same as vanadium metal. State the steel or alloy grade so the correct material stream can be assessed.
XRF can indicate vanadium and other elements in many alloys. Additional analysis may be needed for exact or certified composition.
Yes. Our service area covers the Benelux; the practical approach depends on quantity, location and required identification.
