Nickel alloy
Do you have Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel or another traceable nickel-base alloy as sheet, tube, bar, components or production scrap? M. Vangelen Recycling buys and assesses Benelux lots; international enquiries are also welcome. Keep known grades separated where possible; for unknown material we assess what identification is needed.

Alloy families
A known trade name, grade or material certificate helps place the lot in the correct alloy family immediately. If the grade is unknown, you can still submit the material for assessment.
Material & application
The general term “nickel alloy” is not specific enough for commercial sorting. Inconel, Hastelloy and Monel are different alloy families with their own grades, compositions and applications. They should therefore not be treated as one generic scrap stream.
Keep known grades separated and retain certificates, stamps, UNS or Werkstoff numbers and origin information. For unknown residual lots, we use these details together with material form and, where needed, analysis to determine the appropriate next step.
Alloys with a similar appearance can differ substantially in technical and commercial terms. Documentation and markings are therefore the first information source. For unknown material, XRF can help compare the indicative elemental composition with possible alloy families.
A measurement should not be interpreted in isolation. Surface condition, coatings, contamination and available grade information can influence the result, so analysis is combined with origin, certificates and material markings wherever possible.

For many nickel-base alloys, handheld XRF can help show characteristic differences in elemental composition. This supports sorting and assessment; if additional or certified analysis is required, we discuss that in advance.

Estimated weight and postcode help assess logistics.
Certificates, grade, origin and part numbers when available.

Valuation
“Nickel alloy” is too broad a description for one price. Actual grade, composition and condition determine how a lot is assessed.
Inconel, Hastelloy and other families have different compositions and markets.
Exact grade and alloying elements are central to classification.
Certificates and markings help maintain separation of known grades.
Solid material, offcuts and machining residues require different assessment.
A clean separated alloy stream is clearer than mixed superalloys.
Quantity, logistics and current demand affect the commercial proposal.
Practical questions
Inconel is a specific trade-name family. We therefore maintain a separate Inconel page for more focused assessment.
Yes. Traceable Monel 400, R-405, K-500 and other nickel-copper alloys have a dedicated Monel page with material and assessment information.
Send photos, origin and markings. Indicative XRF analysis may help examine elemental composition and determine the next step.
Yes where grades are reliably known. Separation preserves material information and avoids unnecessary mixing.
