Nickel-copper alloy
Do you have Monel 400, Monel K-500, R-405, sheet, tube, bar, valves, pump parts or production residues? We assess the alloy grade, traceability, condition, volume and logistics.

Lot forms
Monel is a family of nickel-copper alloys available in different grades and product forms. A known grade, marking or certificate helps distinguish Monel from other nickel and copper alloys.
Material & application
Monel is a trade name covering nickel-copper alloys within the broader nickel-alloy category. Monel 400 is mainly nickel and copper; K-500 is a different grade containing aluminium and titanium to achieve higher strength. Not all Monel lots are therefore technically or commercially identical.
Keep known grades separate where possible and retain material certificates, UNS/Werkstoff numbers and component data. This helps prevent valuable nickel-copper alloys being treated as generic stainless steel or copper-nickel.
Identification
Monel can resemble other nickel alloys, stainless steel or copper-nickel materials. Markings such as N04400, N05500, 2.4360/2.4361 or 2.4375 are useful clues, but documentation and analysis remain important.
XRF can provide indicative information on nickel, copper and other relevant alloying elements. Mixed or undocumented lots may require additional verification.

Handheld XRF is useful for checking the nickel-copper base and many accompanying alloying elements. This helps distinguish Monel from other copper and nickel alloys, but markings, certificates and a representative test surface remain important when confirming an exact grade.

Estimated weight and postcode help assess logistics.
Certificates, grade, origin and part numbers where available.
We advise what information, analysis or logistics are required.
Valuation
Monel value depends on the actual grade, nickel and copper content, material form and condition. We therefore assess the quality of the lot rather than publishing one fixed Monel price.
Monel 400, K-500 and other grades have different compositions.
The actual alloy composition is a major part of commercial assessment.
UNS/Werkstoff numbers, certificates and markings help confirm the grade.
Sheet, tube, bar, components and turnings require different processing.
Oil, coatings, rubber, seals and foreign metals can affect the lot.
Lot size, location and current demand for the specific grade also matter.
Practical questions
No. Monel is a nickel-copper alloy family in which nickel is generally the dominant component. Copper-nickel grades such as 70/30 or 90/10 have a different composition.
You can submit both grades. State the grade and include certificates, markings or component information where possible.
Yes. You can offer sorted turnings or machining residues. State whether oil, coolant or other alloys are present.
This can be arranged depending on the lot, quantity and location. Benelux logistics are agreed in advance.
